# Getting notified!

Hi all. I wanted to note two things to help you keep up communication via this channel. The first is notifications. Please click the 🔔 in the top right corner, and select the level of notification you would like. To have the same experience as the old mailing list, choose **Watching**. For a more streamlined experience, try **Watching First Post**.

The second is _where_ those notifications go. On your settings ( ☰ icon →⚙ Settings ), go to the Preferences tab, and check out the Email and Notification preferences. There are a number of options there, so you should be able to fine tune notifications to ensure you get the information you want when you want it and where you want it.
